I take the Zou! bus every morning at 07:30 from Embrun station to get to my job in Chorges. I arrive around 07:50 when there's no traffic jam or roadworks.

Living at altitude with a 350m vertical drop, I never imagined I'd be able to make my journeys other than by car... until Mobility Week, when I was able to try out an electrically-assisted bike to get home. I was amazed at how easy it was to get home: very little effort and only 10 minutes longer than by car. The next day, the trip back to the office took only 2 minutes more than by car! And what a pleasure to do a bit of sport, to travel in the fresh air with a panoramic view!

Since the Mobility Challenge, the rule has been carpooling between colleagues. And when I still have to travel alone and can't take the bus or train, Blablacar Daily, Mobicoop and Rezo Pouce are all activated and available!

Car pooling is a great way to bond and get to know colleagues. As I didn't have the same schedule as my colleagues, I continued to take the bus every day on the way back, which enabled me to observe and appreciate the colors and reflections on the lake, to have a free mind and to take a load off the workday.

I've been cycling to work for some time now, and for me it's quicker than the car, living in Embrun. But more than that ... Getting some fresh air in the morning, on my saddle, means running into people in the other direction, and smiling at them. We don't know each other, but we greet each other, and there's this little complicity that develops out of almost nothing. We also take the time to observe, to smell, to forecast the weather for the day.

Today, I took a forgotten path, a rarely trodden side road. Far from routine, I dared to stray, to rediscover the pleasure of walking.

This morning, I barely had time to give a thumbs-up before a lady stopped! I usually wait 2 minutes. The longest: 7 minutes! I love meeting people, finding out where they're from, where they're going and what they're up to.

I really enjoyed carpooling with a colleague whom I rarely meet, as we don't share the same premises... A great discovery!

During the mobility challenge, I was able to test an electric bike and realize that the difference in altitude was not a problem. I learned about the subsidies available for the purchase of a cargo bike. When one of our two cars broke down, I decided not to reinvest in a car.

Now, I commute from home to school to work by bike: saving time and money, more fun and less stress

I live 2 kilometers from my workplace. I've chosen to walk to work and organize a pedibus every morning to get to school. I've set up a Whatsapp group and can collect up to 9 children on the route in addition to my 2 daughters.

Like every morning: walk from my home to the tourist office where I work... An umbrella in the bag, just in case!
