The Communauté de communes de Serre-Ponçon has recently equipped its greenways with bicycle counting loops, to quantify the number of cyclists and track their progress.
It has also equipped itself with car-counting tubes to measure traffic on access roads to popular tourist sites. These counters make it possible to objectivize the number of visitors, and the data is used to inform discussions on the development of these sites.
The meters were co-financed by the Région SUD at a total cost of €26,880 (50% Région Sud, 50% Communauté de communes de Serre-Ponçon).
